I’m Pete Dunn, luthier/creator/floor sweeper etc., of Bowerbird Guitars.  My love of guitars began at age 4, after sneaking a peek of a video on MTV while my mother was out of the room.  I soon began begging my parents for a guitar.  Unable to convince them, I attempted to construct my first guitar with a ruler, some rubber bands, and a Zips shoebox.  Held together with scotch tape, it imploded in less than a second.  The learning curve was indeed steep at first.  Nevertheless, the seed had been planted.  My career as a luthier began in earnest in 1998, working independently in guitar repair and designing and building my own guitars in the Kansas City area after graduating from the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery.   In 2004, I relocated to Annapolis, Maryland where I accepted a job offer from Paul Reed Smith Guitars.  I enjoyed several successful years with PRS,  eventually earning a position within the small, but talented Private Stock Acoustic team where I helped launch a line of acoustic guitars. In 2011, I decided to “leave the nest” and began handcrafting instruments to be as unique in time as you.

I hope you’ll enjoy looking around, and please have a look at my Available Guitars.  I love to hear feedback, suggestions, and questions, so please don’t hesitate to contact me.  In addition to making guitars, I also offer guitar repair by appointment in the Annapolis, MD area, click here for more info.  I look forward to hearing from you!
